Fact Check: Woman Crying Outside Hospital In Viral Video From Gaza Isn’t Palestinian Actor, But A Common Citizen
The video of a woman crying inconsolably outside a hospital in Gaza is being shared with the false claim that it is that of Palestinian actress Masiya Abd Elhadi.

New Delhi (Vishvas News). After the Israel-Hamas conflict, a video clip is going viral on social media, in which a woman can be seen crying and narrating her ordeal outside a hospital. It is being claimed that the woman seen in the video is Palestinian actress Masiya Abd Elhadi and this video clip is from the shooting of one of her films.
Vishvas News found this claim to be false in its investigation. The crying woman seen in the viral video is not Palestinian actress Masiya Abd Elhadi, but an ordinary woman living in Gaza. This video, recorded outside a local hospital after the Israeli counterattack on Gaza following the Hamas terror attack, is being shared with false claims.
What is going viral?
Social media user ‘Manu Gupta’ shared the viral video (archive link) and wrote, “This is Palestinian actress Masiya Abd Elhadi, who is shooting a propaganda video somewhere in Gaza. Later the same video will be made viral by Hamas supporters and Islamic Jihad supporters to play the victim card. This is how the ecosystem of radical Islamic terrorists works.”
Many other social media users have shared this video with similar claims.
Investigation
By searching the keyframes of the viral video through Reverse Image Search, we found this video posted on the profiles of many X users.
The handle @ytirawi is mentioned in the clip shared by all these users. In the search, we found this profile, from which the video clip has been shared on October 10, 2023.
According to the information given, this is a video of “a woman in disarray outside Shifa Hospital after the death of children in an Israeli attack”. The emergency block of the hospital is visible in the background.
We also found another clip shared by the same handle, in which the same hospital is seen. In two other video clips shared on October 13, a crowd of injured people and ambulances can be seen outside the hospital.
Since all the videos were shared from the same source, we once again took the help of Reverse Image Search. During search, we found this video shared with Arabic text on the X handle of a user named @Muatsim.
We translated this text with the help of Google Lens. According to the information given, this is a woman from Gaza crying in despair after the death of her child outside the hospital. Shifa Hospital is located in Gaza. According to news reports, a large number of injured are being treated in this hospital after Israel’s retaliatory action on Gaza.
It was claimed in the viral post that the woman seen in it is Palestinian actress Masiya Abd Elhadi. In news search, we found many pictures and the profile of this Palestinian actress, who is completely different from the woman seen in the viral video. Looking at the collage below, it can be clearly said that Palestinian actress Masiya Abd Elhadi and the woman seen in the viral video clip are two different persons.
Vishvas News contacted Palestinian fact checker Riham Abu Ita regarding the viral video. He confirmed that the woman seen in it is not Palestinian actress Masiya Abd Elhadi but an ordinary woman living in Gaza and that journalists had recorded this video a few days ago.
Vishvas News does not confirm the context and location of this video, but we can confirm that the woman seen in it is not Palestinian actress Masiya Abd Elhadi.
