Investigation

To investigate this post, we first searched on the internet whether there is any place in Arunachal Pradesh named Pasighat where it never rains. We found that there is definitely a place called Pasighat in Arunachal Pradesh, but it rains here. We found many videos where there were reports of heavy rains in Pasighat.

We got in touch with Ater Bengia, a journalist from Arunachal, regarding this. He said, “It is absolutely wrong that Pasighat does not receive rain. It rains here. In fact, due to heavy rains recently, the situation of floods was created here.”

Now it was clear that Pasighat in Arunachal Pradesh receives rain. Now we wanted to know whether this video is from Pasighat or not? We extracted screengrabs of this video with the help of InVid tool and then searched these screengrabs on Google reverse image. We found this video on several Twitter accounts and YouTube channels with the description that the video is from Yemen’s Al-Hutaib.

Now we found out whether it rains in Al Hutaib. We found reports on several Indian news websites that “Al-Hutaib in Yemen is one of the places in the world where it never rains.”

Now we searched on authentic weather websites of Yemen to see if this is true? Nowhere did we find a confirmed report that it never rains in Al-Hutaib. However, a journalist from Yemen also told us that this place is known for not having rain. But Vishvas News does not independently confirm this.

The viral post was shared by a Facebook page named Kaithal Public TV. The page is followed by 41,952 people.

Conclusion: Vishvas News in its investigation found that this claim is false. This video is not from Pasighat, but from Yemen. It rains in Pasighat.
