It is being claimed with the post that these two dancers are not real humans, but robots. Vishvas News found in its investigation that this claim is false. Both the dancers seen in the video are real humans, not robots.

What’s in the viral post?

It is being claimed with the viral video “This classical dance was created in China and broadcast at Shanghai Disneyland. They are not dancing artists, but robots made in China. The performance time is only about 5 minutes, but the waiting time for tickets is 4 hours, and the ticket price is 499 yuan. ($75) It is more complex than Japan’s and has perfect facial expressions. Both dancers are robots. They look so real that they cannot be distinguished from actual people.”

Investigation

To investigate this video, we put this video in the InVid tool and extracted its keyframes. We then searched these keyframes on Google reverse image. We found the same video uploaded on 8th December 2013 on the verified YouTube channel of BBC. The description accompanying the video read “Abbey Clancy & Aljaz dance the Viennesse Waltz to ‘Delilah’ – Strictly Come Dancing – BBC One”. According to the post, the names of these dancers are Abbey Clancy and Aljaz.

We also found news about this video on bbc.co.uk. According to the news, the performers in the video, Abbey Clancy and Aljaz won the Strictly Come Dance show in 2013. According to the news, Abby Clancy is a TV presenter and model, and Aljaz is a professional dancer.

We contacted Elite Model Management, the company that manages Abbey Clancy, for confirmation. The company’s PR manager confirmed that the dancer in the video is Abby Clancy, who participated in the show in 2013 and won it.
