New Delhi Vishvas News – A viral picture circulating on social media platforms depicts a statue of Lord Shiva constructed atop a building, with claims suggesting it is part of the new design for the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre. Numerous users are sharing it, presuming its authenticity.
However, Vishvas News has investigated this claim and found it to be false. The viral image is not authentic; rather, it has been generated using Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology. Despite this, many individuals continue to share it under the mistaken belief that it represents a genuine architectural plan.
Facebook user Anuj Porwal shared this picture on March 25 and wrote, “Design of the new Bhabha Atomic Research Centre. The —— of the leftists is going to be on fire.” Many other users on different social media platforms have shared this picture with similar claims.
To investigate the viral picture, we searched using keywords related to the design of the new Bhabha Atomic Research Centre. However, our search yielded no relevant news articles. Taking our investigation forward, we examined the official website and social media profiles of the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), yet found no information corroborating the claim.
Continuing our investigation, we utilised an AI-assisted picture-checking tool, Hive Moderation, which indicated a 99.9% probability that the picture was AI-generated. For further validation, we utilized another tool called isitai, which suggested a 98.74% likelihood of AI creation for the image.
In an effort to gather additional insights, we reached out to AI expert and ALTRD founder, Gayatri Aggarwal, who affirmed that the picture was indeed AI-generated, citing telltale signs such as symmetrical irregularities, lighting discrepancies, and other imperfections indicative of its artificial nature. The presence of Lord Shiva’s idol, buildings, trees, and plants in the image further reinforced its AI origin.
Lastly, we examined the profile of the user who shared the post, revealing that they are a resident of Kanpur.
Conclusion: The viral picture circulating with claims of representing the design of the new Bhabha Atomic Research Centre is not true. Instead, it has been generated using an AI tool. Vishvas News’ investigation has confirmed the claim to be false.
