Fact Check: Video Of Leaders Attending G20 Summit In Delhi Going Viral With False Claims
Vishvas News in its investigation found that the viral video of the heads of state coming to attend the G20 summit in the year 2023 is being shared with false claims linking it with the Ram Temple consecration ceremony.

New Delhi Vishvas News – A video linked to the consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple is going viral on social media. The video depicts US President Joe Biden, British PM Rishi Sunak, Canadian PM Justin Trudeau and several other leaders getting off a plane. The claim accompanying the video stated that it captures the chief guests attending the Pran Pratishtha program of the Ram Temple.
Upon investigation, Vishvas News has determined that the claims made about the viral video are false. The video shows heads of state arriving to participate in the G20 summit last year in New Delhi, and it has been edited and shared with a misleading connection to the Ram Temple.
What’s Going Viral?
Facebook user Manvik Paswan shared the viral video on January 21, 2024. The caption reads, “Guests attending Ram Mandir Ayodhya on 22 January 2024.”
Investigation:
To verify the authenticity of the viral claim, we conducted a Google search using relevant keywords. No news reports were found that mentioned the arrival of Prime Ministers and Presidents of other countries seen in the video for the Pran Pratistha ceremony of the Ram Temple.
In our news search, we found reports from Dainik Jagran and NDTV dated January 22, stating that 7,000 people, including politicians, athletes, film stars, and industrialists, were invited to the Pran Pratishtha ceremony. The reports listed the names of notable personalities invited to the event, but none of the leaders seen in the video were mentioned.
Taking our investigation forward, we used the Invid tool to extract keyframes from the video and conducted a Google Reverse Image search. It was revealed that the video originated from the G20 Summit held in India in 2023. The footage of leaders attending the G20 summit is now being edited and shared with a false connection to the Ram Temple.
We found a video of Canadian PM Justin Trudeau on Zee News’ official YouTube channel dated September 8, 2023, described as being from the G20 summit. Similarly, a viral video of Joe Biden was found on ANI’s official YouTube channel on the same date, confirming its association with the 2023 G20 summit in India.
A video of Rishi Sunak and his wife attending the G20 was uploaded on WION’s official YouTube channel on September 8, 2023. The video of UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on India Today’s official YouTube channel, also dated September 8, 2023, is described as being from the G20 summit.
Additional videos of Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, and Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva attending the summit were found on various news channels on September 8, 2023.
Seeking more clarification, we contacted Dainik Jagran’s editorial in-charge of Ayodhya, Rama Sharan Awasthi, who dismissed the claim as fake.
Finally, we scrutinised the account of the user who shared the video with the false claim. The user, followed by 538 people, frequently shares posts related to a specific ideology.
Conclusion: Vishvas News in its investigation found that the viral video of the heads of state coming to attend the G20 summit in the year 2023 is being shared with false claims linking it with the Ram Temple consecration ceremony.
