New Delhi (Vishvas News): A video of Kanwariyas clashing is being shared on social media with the claim that this video is from the Mangalore area of ​​Roorkee. There was a fight between the Kanwariyas of UP and Haryana to take the Dak Kanwar forward and in the meantime a Kanwariya Karthik Baliyan lost his life.

The viral claim proved to be misleading in the investigation of Vishvas News. The video is from Meerut city of Uttar Pradesh. There was a fight between the two parties regarding the DJ competition. The viral video has nothing to do with the incident in Mangalore, Roorkee.

Claim :

Facebook user Ravi Kant shared the viral video on 26 July 2022. The caption read, “Clash between Kanwariyas of UP-Haryana in Mangalore area of ​​Roorkee. Karthik Baliyan died in Muzaffarnagar due to being hit in the head. He was also a soldier in the Army. There was a dispute regarding the removal of Dak Kanwar!

Investigation:

To know the truth of the viral claim, we extracted the grabs of the video and then searched them through Google reverse image. We found a report related to the claim published on the website of Amar Ujala on 25 July 2022. According to the report, this video is from Lohia Farm House located in Kharkhoda, Meerut. The competition started between the two parties regarding playing DJ. Which soon turned into a fight. After the intervention of the police and the local people, the matter was handled and the Kanwariyas were sent to the destination. Live Hindustan also published this news.

Taking the investigation further, we searched on Google through related keywords. During this, we got another report related to the claim on the official YouTube channel of Punjab Kesari. It was uploaded on 26th July. The same information has also been given in the report, that this video is of an incident in Kharkhoda, Meerut.

For more details, we contacted Kharkhoda SHO Jitendra Kumar Dubey. He told us that the claim being made about the viral video is false. This video has nothing to do with the incident in Mangalore, Roorkee. The video is of a fight between two parties over a DJ competition in Kharkhoda. No one was seriously injured or died in the incident. No FIR was even registered regarding this incident. The matter was settled and sent to both parties.

At last, we started scanning the profile of the user Ravi Kant who shared the post. We found out that the user has 182 followers. According to the information given on the profile, the user is a resident of Uttar Pradesh.
