Jyoti Maurya, a PCS officer currently serving as GM at a Sugar Mill in Bareilly, has not been removed from her position. The viral post on social media claiming her removal is nothing more than a rumour.
New Delhi Vishvas News – Vishvas News conducted a fact-check on this viral claim and found that it is nothing more than a rumour. Jyoti Maurya, a PCS officer, currently holds the position of GM at a Sugar Mill in Semkheda, Bareilly. The Uttar Pradesh government has not issued any orders for her removal. This information has been confirmed by the Bareilly District Magistrate’s office and the Office of the Additional Chief Secretary, Appointment and Personnel Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh.
The viral post originated from a Facebook user named ‘Haq ki Awaaz’. On July 4, the user posted a photo of Jyoti Maurya along with the caption, “Jyoti Maurya was removed from the post of SDM.”
“The video of SDM Sahiba and her husband has been circulating on social media for quite some time, and today Jyoti Maurya, who held the position of SDM, has supposedly been removed from her post.” Several other users on Facebook have also shared this post, making the same claim.
To investigate the viral claim, we conducted a Google search using relevant keywords. The news about this incident was published on the One India website on July 4. According to the article, numerous similar posts on social media claim that SDM Jyoti Maurya has been removed from her position by the UP government. However, this is just a rumour. She has not been removed from her position, and there is no ongoing inquiry against her. It is anticipated that an investigation may be initiated against her in the near future.
Apart from this, we could not find any news on any website that could confirm the viral claim. To gather more information, we contacted the office of Dr Devesh Chaturvedi, Additional Chief Secretary, Appointment and Personnel Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh. His office confirmed that there is no truth to the claim and that it is merely a rumour. Jyoti Maurya has not been removed from her position.
Furthermore, we tried to contact Bareilly District Magistrate Shashikant Dwivedi. The Additional District Magistrate (City) informed us that no such order has been received in the District Magistrate’s office, and they have no information regarding the matter. Jyoti is currently serving as the GM at a Sugar Mill.
On the other hand, Ashok Kumar, the City Chief of Dainik Jagran Bareilly, stated, “Jyoti Maurya has not been removed from her position. She is the GM at Semkheda Sugar Mill. Jyoti’s husband, Alok, filed a complaint against her in Lucknow, which is currently under investigation.” This makes it clear that the PCS officer has not been removed from her position.
According to an article published in a magazine on July 4, 2023, “The news of a dispute between GM Jyoti at Semkheda Sugar Mill in Bareilly and Alok Maurya, a Class IV employee working in the Panchayati Raj Department of Pratapgarh, has generated widespread discussion on social media. Jyoti has accused her husband Alok and his family of demanding dowry, while Alok has accused Jyoti of conspiring to harm him.”
Finally, we examined the profile of the Facebook user ‘Haq Ki Awaaz‘ who made the false claim. This page, created on January 9, 2021, has approximately 5800 followers.
Conclusion: Jyoti Maurya, a PCS officer currently serving as GM at a Sugar Mill in Bareilly, has not been removed from her position. The viral post on social media claiming her removal is nothing more than a rumour.
