Investigation

To investigate this claim, we searched the keyframes of the video through Google reverse image. We found this video uploaded on a verified YouTube channel named Ramiz Speaks on 23rd April 2021.

On searching, we came to know that in April 2021, Pakistan toured Zimbabwe. In this series, Zimbabwe defeated Pakistan by 19 runs in the match on 23 April 2021.

Also, if you listen to the video properly, Rameez talks about the ranking and says Pakistan is on the fourth rank and Zimbabwe is on the 12th rank. Whereas according to the ICC website, in the latest T20 ranking, Pakistan is ranked fourth while Zimbabwe is ranked 11th.

Clearly this video is old.

Searching with keywords we couldn’t find any such comment by Rameez Raja on the recent Pakistan-Zimbabwe T20 match.

For more confirmation, we spoke to sports journalist and commentator Syed Hussain. He said “No, this is an old video… Rameez Raja was referring to the match when Pakistan toured Zimbabwe in 2021 and lost in Harare. The entire team got out for just 99 runs. Zimbabwe won by 19 runs. Ramiz Raja was not the PCB chief at that time. He was elected PCB chief in September 2021. Earlier he was known for his harsh comments.”

At the end of the investigation, we did a social scanning of the profile of Twitter user Umesh Chandra, who tweeted the fake post. This page was created in 2015.

Conclusion: The viral claim turned out to be misleading in the investigation of Vishvas News. This video of Rameez Raja is from 2021. This video has nothing to do with Zimbabwe-Pak match in T20 World Cup 2022.
