Our investigation determined that the Shivalinga in question is situated in Telangana. It has been falsely circulated as being situated in Sri Lanka and Jaffna.

New Delhi Vishvas News – A Shivalinga featured in a viral photo on social media is claimed to be the world’s largest and is located in Sri Lanka. However, upon investigation, we discovered that this Shivalinga is actually from Telangana. It is being falsely circulated as being situated in Sri Lanka.

What’s Going Viral?

A Facebook user named ‘Add 50 of your friends to the group of 100 crore Hindus’ has claimed in the post that “108 feet Shivalinga is ready in Sri Lanka. This is the tallest Shivling in the world, say Har Har Mahadev.”

Investigation:

Our investigation commenced with a Google Lens search of the viral photo. During our search, we stumbled upon a tweet dated February 5, 2018, from a Twitter handle named Shiva Shakthi Sai TV. The tweet featured the same Shivalinga, accompanied by the description “63 Feet Veda Sai Mahalingeshwara prathista||#siddhaguru Sri Ramananda maharshi||#Ramaneshwaram, Nagireddypalli, bhongir.”

Within the post, there was an alternate-angle photo of the Shivalinga, and the caption indicated that it was the 63-foot-high Veda Sai Mahalingeshwar situated in Nagireddypalle, Bhongir, Telangana.

Further research using the keywords ’63 Feet Veda Sai MahaLingeshwara’ led us to a page on www.ramananandamaharshi.com, the website of spiritual master Siddhaguru Sri Ramanand Maharshi. The page identified the structure as “Ved Sai Maha Lingeshwar,” a 63-foot-high Shiva Linga dedicated to Paramguru Shirdi Sai.

To corroborate this information, we contacted Lakshman Kumar Paldugu, the manager of spiritual leader Siddhaguru Sri Ramananda Maharshi. Paldugu confirmed that the Shivalinga is indeed located in Nagireddypalle, Bhongir, Telangana. He provided the precise location and mentioned that the Shivalinga stands at a height of 63 feet and is constructed with steel and POP.

Subsequently, our search for the longest Shivalinga led us to a news article from the Times of India dated January 10, 2019. According to the report, the India Book of Records certified the 111.2 feet Shivalinga at Maheshwaram Shri Shiv Parvati Temple in Chenkal as the tallest Shivalinga in the country.

This post was shared by a Facebook user named ‘Add 50 of your friends to the group of 100 crore Hindus’, who has more than 10 lakh followers.

Conclusion: Our investigation determined that the Shivalinga in question is situated in Telangana. It has been falsely circulated as being situated in Sri Lanka and Jaffna.
