Fact Check: This Job Advert Is Falsely Attributed To World Health Organization (WHO)

This job advert viral in the name of World Health Organization (WHO) is fake.

New Delhi (Vishvas News): A post received by Vishvas news on its Whatsapp Chatbot claims that World Health Organization (WHO) is offering jobs to people during the coronavirus pandemic. As per the advertisement, people need to fill in their personal details by clicking on a suspicious link and share the link with their Whatsapp contacts. It further claims that by following this process, users can earn Rs1000 or Rs2000 daily.

Vishvas News investigated and found the viral post to be fake. It is a scam.

Claim

A post shared on Vishvas News Whatsapp Chatbot claims that World Health Organization (WHO) is offering jobs to people during the coronavirus pandemic. As per the advertisement, people need to fill in their personal details by clicking on a suspicious link and share the link with their Whatsapp contacts. It further claims that by following this process, users can earn Rs1000 or Rs2000 daily. The link with the post is http://bit.ly/Jobs-At_WHO

Investigation

We investigated the advertisement by searching it on the official website of World Health Organization (WHO). We couldn’t find any such job posting.

The social media handles of WHO also didn’t have any such job posting.

We further checked by clicking on the link which was mentioned as the application process.

The application process prompted to enter name, age, contact details and city name. It further displayed the message: “Share this news with your Whatsapp friends to get this job offer.”

We checked the details of the website using Whois tool. We found that the website was created on August 12, 2019.

We contacted WHO and the spokesperson of organization stated: “This is spam. WHO has not made any such advertisement.”

World Health Organization has also warned people on its official website to beware of criminals pretending to represent the World Health Organization (WHO).
