Fact Check: Sahdev, who sang ‘Bachpan Ka Pyar’, did not get 23 lakhs worth car, viral post is fake

Vishvas News (New Delhi): A fake news is going viral on social media about Sahadev of Sukma, Chhattisgarh, who became an internet sensation by singing the song ‘Bachpan Ka Pyaar’. It is being claimed that a showroom owner has gifted a car worth 23 lakhs to Sahdev. Vishvas News investigated the viral post and found that the post is fake. Sahdev was invited as a guest to a car showroom in Raipur to hand over the car keys to a customer.

Claim

Sharing the link of news, a Facebook user named Muzaffarpur Wow wrote: ‘Sahdev, who sang ‘Bachpan Ka Pyar’, got a 23 lakh MG car as a gift, and created a ruckus on the internet.’

The text in the post link claims that ‘The owner of MG’s showroom happily gifted him an MG Hector SUV worth Rs 23 lakhs.’

Investigation

Vishvas News used Google Open Search to investigate the claim. On searching related keywords, we found a report published on the website of Naiduniya. The report stated that no car has been given to Sahdev as a gift. This claim is fake. The complete report can be read by clicking here.

Vishvas News got in touch with Satish Chanakya, Bureau Chief, Naiduniya, Sukma. He said that fake news about Sahdev is going viral on social media. The owner of the car showroom had called Sahdev for an event. Some people making the video of the same viral with a fake claim.

We also contacted Sahdev and his associate Pintu Manikpuri. While sharing the complete information with Vishvas News, he told that the news about 23 lakh car to Sahdev is completely false. Sahdev was invited on August 9th on behalf of MG Motors of Raipur. There a customer was given a car key from him.

Vishvas News scanned the profile of the Facebook page Muzaffarpur Wow, which shared the viral claim. This page has been liked by more than 2.60 lakh people. It was created on March 14, 2017.
