Fact Check: President Murmu Has Been Invited To Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha Ceremony, Viral Claim Is False

Vishvas News in its investigation found that the viral claim is false and President Draupadi Murmu has been invited for the consecration ceremony of Ram Temple. The Chairman of the Ram Mandir Construction Committee, the International Working President of VHP and RSS workers invited the President on January 12, officially handling her the invitation card at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.

New Delhi Vishvas News – Invitations for the consecration ceremony of the Ram temple in Ayodhya are currently being distributed ahead of the event on January 22. Several posts related to invitations are gaining traction on social media platforms. Some of these posts allege that President Draupadi Murmu has not received an invitation to the consecration ceremony.

Upon conducting an investigation, Vishvas News found that the viral claim on social media was false. On January 12, the Chairman of the Ram Temple Construction Committee, the International Working President of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), and RSS workers visited Rashtrapati Bhavan and presented an invitation letter to Draupadi Murmu.

What’s Going Viral?

Facebook user Ámît Kûmar Ñèhal shared the viral post on January 14 and wrote, “Big personalities and big leaders have been invited for the inauguration of the Ram temple being built in Ayodhya, why according to the Indian Constitution, Honorable President Smt. Draupadi Murmu ji, the first citizen of the country, was not invited….. ?” Do you know why? “Because credit man Modi ji’s credit will be spoiled, and because Modi ji cannot inaugurate Ram Mandir while being on the President’s stage, because the first person of the country is the President, hence neither she will be invited, nor will the President will reach. Secondly, the Ram temple is being inaugurated in a half-built state. Because then we have to vote in the name of the temple, the issue will be Ram temple only.”

Investigation:

To verify the viral claim, we conducted a Google search using relevant keywords. An article on Dainik Jagran’s website, dated January 12 and citing ANI, reports that the President has been invited to the Pran Pratishtha ceremony. On the same day, the Chairman of the Ram Mandir Construction Committee, Nripendra Mishra, VHP International Working President Alok Kumar, and RSS affiliate Ram Lal visited Rashtrapati Bhavan, where they presented the invitation letter to the President.

The Hindu published a news article on January 12 stating, “President Draupadi Murmu received an invitation on January 12 for the consecration ceremony of the Ram temple in Ayodhya.” According to a press release by VHP, it was mentioned that the President expressed immense happiness upon receiving the invitation, stating that she would soon decide on the timing of her visit to Ayodhya. The release also highlighted that over 7000 individuals from various categories, including saints, politicians, businessmen, sportspersons, actors, and families of kar sevaks, have been invited to the event.

A post regarding this can also be seen on the official X handle of ANI. VHP’s national spokesperson Vinod Bansal also posted a picture of the invitation given to the President on January 12.

When contacted over the viral claim, Ramasharan Awasthi, editorial in-charge of Dainik Jagran in Ayodhya, said, “The invitation has been given to the President. The invitation letter has been given to her on January 12.” We scanned the profile of the Facebook user who made the fake claim and found that the user has around 5600 followers.

Conclusion: Vishvas News in its investigation found that the viral claim is false and President Draupadi Murmu has been invited for the consecration ceremony of Ram Temple. The Chairman of the Ram Mandir Construction Committee, the International Working President of VHP and RSS workers invited the President on January 12, officially handling her the invitation card at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
