Fact Check: Post Claiming February Is Very Special This Year Is Fake

New Delhi (Vishvas News): A post going viral on social media claims that February is very special this year as this time each day in February is falling four times in a month. This coincidence comes once in 823 years.

Vishvas News investigated and found the claim to be false.

Claim

Facebook user Aksi Mythree Alis posted: Hi Guys… Have u paid attention to the 2021 Calendar ? This coming February will never come again in your life. Because this year February has 4 SUNDAYS 4 MONDAYS 4 TUESDAYS 4 WEDNESDAYS 4 THURSDAYS 4 FRIDAYS 4 SATURDAYS. Its happens one every 823 years. This year February very unique.”

Investigation

Vishvas News started its investigation by viewing the calendar and found that it is true that every day in February is falling four times.

When we tried to find the reason behind this, we found that except for the leap year, there are 28 days in February every year, whereas seven days a week, so every day of the week will fall four times.

Whereas, in the leap year, there are 29 days in the month of February. Due to this, one or the other day comes five times in a month, while the rest of the day falls four times.

The post claimed that you can see this coincidence only once in 823 years. We contacted the neurologist Sanjay Sharma to investigate this claim. He told us that there is no such coincidence, except for the leap year, every day of the week in February comes four times. Therefore, the claim made in the viral post is false.

We scanned the profile of Aksi Mythree Alis, the user who shared this post on Facebook. We found that the user is based out of Bandung, Indonesia.

Conclusion: Except the leap year, there are only 28 days in the month of February every year. Every day of the week comes only four times in February, this is not a rare coincidence, the viral post is fake.
