Fact Check: No, Starbucks Isn’t Giving Away Free Frappuccinos For Yelling ‘Black Lives Matter’ in Cafes, Fake Post Going Viral

New Delhi (Vishvas News): A claim going viral on social media states that Starbucks is offering customers free Frappuccinos who shout ‘Black Lives Matter!’ in their stores. Vishvas News investigated and found the viral post to be fake. Starbucks did not make any such offer.

A viral claim on social media reads: We’re all in this together, BLACK LIVES MATTER! Come to any of our stores shouting these words for a free Frappuccino of your choice. The louder you shout the larger the size you’ll get!

Investigation

Vishvas News scanned the social media profiles of Starbucks. We did not find any such promotions as mentioned in the viral post.

We spoke to Vishvas, an official from Starbucks Customer support. He said: “There is no such promotion offered by Startbucks. This is a fake news.”

Starbucks in its tweet shared: “Black lives matter. We are committed to being a part of change.”

In the screenshot, a QR code is also mentioned. Scanning the QR code shows the N word. It is believed that the ad was created as a scam.

We also found a tweet made by a user to Starbucks regarding the offer mentioned in the viral post. In response to the tweet Starbucks replied: This is a fake offer and not valid at Starbucks. We are investigating to determine how this fake offer was created and circulated.
