Fact Check: No, matchstick powder cannot treat scorpion bite venom

New Delhi(Vishvas News). A photo is doing rounds on Facebook with claiming that certain amount of matchstick powder can treat the venom effect spread through scorpion bite in 2 minutes.
Claim: As per the post circulated on social media, the venom of scorpion bite can be treated through a simple remedy. All you have to do is take 5-7 matchsticks and mix with water. Use this on the affected area where the scorpion has bitten in order to reduce the poison effect.
Fact check:
As per our investigation, the post is fake and matchstick powder cannot cure the venom spread through scorpion’s bite.
We contacted the National Poisons Information Centre (NPIC) at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). As per the doctors, “scorpion sting can cause allergy, itching and also cause certain cardiovascular symptoms. No, matchstick powder is no cure for scorpion bite.”
We also contacted Dr. Sanjeev Kumar, C.S.C, D.C.H, M.B.B.S, General Physician, Alappuzha (34 years of experience). He shared that, “this is a fake news and there is no such treatment of curing venom spread through scorpion bite using matchsticks.”
We used Stalkscan and searched the profile of Naresh Manglani Lucky Ji. We found many other misleading posts on his profile.
We also searched the logo of “Doctor Uncle” as shown in the photo but didn’t find any related information.
