Notably, the post focuses on a hand adorned with a tattoo of a ‘trishool and damroo.’ The caption accompanying the photo alleges that it is a case of ‘love jihad’ implying that a Hindu girl was killed by a Muslim man. However, after conducting a thorough investigation, Vishvas News has found that there are no communal implications associated with this incident. The Mumbai Police confirmed to Vishvas News that the woman was murdered by her own husband, and both of them are Hindus.

A Facebook user ‘The RIGHT Indian‘ (Archive) shared this picture with the caption: “BREAKING NEWS: Headless body of a #Hindu woman found stuffed in a #suitcase at Uttan beach at #Bhayandar, #Mumbai. Besides a tattoo on her hand, Mumbai Police didn’t find any identification documents on the woman’s body. The woman’s body was cut into 3 parts & her head is missing. #lovejihad.”

Investigation

Vishvas News conducted a fact-check and found a news report from the Mid Day newspaper, stating that the Mira Bhayandar police had solved the murder mystery and identified the headless body found at Uttan beach. The woman was identified as Anjali Singh, a resident of Naigaon area. The police have arrested the woman’s husband, Mintu Singh, and her husband’s brother, Chunchun Singh, on suspicion of murder.
