New Delhi (Vishvas News): A video of Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi is going viral. In the video, some pundits can be seen giving some gifts while reciting verses in Sanskrit in front of the Union Minister. Social media users are making this video viral claiming that Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi has changed his religion. Vishvas News investigated the viral post. We came to know that on September 2021, the respected Guru Sri Sri Sri Swatmanendra Saraswathi Mahaswamy of Visakha Sri Shardapeeth, Pendurthy, Visakhapatnam had met the Union Minister. Claim
Facebook page Bolta Bharat TV uploaded a video on September 29 claiming: “Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi changed his religion.”
Believing this video to be true, many users on social media have shared it with similar claims.

Investigation
Vishvas News first started searching the social media account of Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi. We found a post on his official Twitter handle. The tweet dated September 21, 2021, had four images. In the pictures, we saw the same people who were present in the viral video.
During the investigation, we found the video of the meeting, which is now going viral with a false claim, on the Facebook page of Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi. It read: “Received blessings from respected Guru Sri Sri Sri Swatmanendra Saraswati Mahaswami ji of Visakha Sri Shardapeeth, Pendurti, Visakhapatnam during his meeting today at Antyodaya Bhawan, New Delhi and Sri Sharada Swaroop Rajashyamala to be organized from 7 to 15 October. Invited me for the Sarannavaratri festival.”

Vishvas News contacted Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi’s official residence. An officer posted there said that the viral post is completely fake.
We scanned the profile of the Facebook page that shared the fake post. We found that the post is followed by 51000 people.
