New Delhi (Vishvas News) – A picture of Mia Khalifa is going viral on social media, in which several books can be seen behind her. While sharing the picture, users claimed that she delivered a lecture at Shah Abdul Latif University in Khairpur district of Pakistan’s Sindh province.
Vishvas News, in its investigation, found that this photo of Mia Khalifa is from Oxford Union when she had arrived for a talk session last month. A BBC journalist from Sindh also confirmed that Mia Khalifa has not delivered any lecture at Shah Abdul Latif University.
What’s In The Viral Post?
Sharing the viral post, a Facebook user wrote, “Mia Khalifa was invited to deliver a lecture at Pakistan’s Shah Latif University Khairpur.”

Investigation
We searched the viral picture using Google Lens and found the photo uploaded on dailystar.co.uk on May 5, 2023. According to the information given in the news here, “30-year-old Mia Khalifa, born in Lebanon, had arrived for a talk session at Oxford Union. However, some people are trolling about it. Posting this picture on her Instagram handle, Khalifa herself described it as a talk session held at Oxford Union.
Clips of this talk session can be seen on the official YouTube channel of Oxford Union.
In news search, we could not find any such report, which confirms that Mia Khalifa had been invited to Pakistan’s Shah Latif University.
The Facebook page of the Shah Latif University’s Directorate of Media and Public Relations featured several guests however no picture of Mia Khalifa was found among them.
We contacted BBC journalist from Sindh, Riyaz Sohail, who confirmed that Mia Khalifa has not given any lecture at Shah Abdul Latif University. The viral claim is absolutely wrong, he said.
In social scanning of the Facebook user who shared the fake post, we found that the user is from Pakistan.
