The man demonstrating hand exercises to stay healthy is not Dr Bajaj from Batra hospital but the co-founder of See Change Consulting. The viral video in the post is misleading and wrongly claims someone’s identity. As per an expert, the exercises shown in the video might be a good addition to our regular fitness regime, but as a sole entity, their role is somewhat questionable.
New Delhi (Vishvas News): Nowadays, several health professionals and practitioners suggest ways to stay fit and healthy. However, a viral video on social media turned out to be misleading when Vishvas News learned that the person demonstrating hand exercises to stay fit and healthy was not Dr Batra (as claimed in the post) but a coach and business strategist, Prakash Seshadri Sharma. As per an expert, the exercises shown in the video might be a good addition to our regular fitness regime, but as a sole entity, their role is somewhat questionable.
Claim
Facebook user Ram Narayan Vidur shared a post on social media claiming – “This is Dr. Bajaj. MD, DM. Earlier head of Cardiology at Batras Hospital. He suggests just a 7 minutes exercise everyday as per the demo and you can stay fit & healthy from tip to toe. Be healthy & stay fit.”
Investigation:
Vishvas News first scanned social media for other posts that could verify the person’s identity, but all Facebook posts carried the same name and identity. On Twitter, similar links were circulating.
Next, we did an open search of the keyframes via Google Lens and found this video on YouTube. The video that premiered on April 5, 2020, has 37,054 views and talks about 7-point simple exercises that can activate certain vital points in the body and rejuvenate the internal organs.
The YouTube page @ComputerPrakash, which goes by ‘SeechangePrakash,’ has 4.51K subscribers. Further investigation took us to the owner’s Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn pages. We also came across the website link, which details the person in the video as a personalized coach for CEOs, entrepreneurs, sports people, and celebrities. He is not a doctor by profession.
When Vishvas News contacted S.Prakash via email, he responded, “I had made this video 2 years ago (at the beginning of the pandemic), but somehow I got tagged as Dr Bajaj. Please visit here. You can also visit my company website: www.seechangeworld.com, to learn about me and what we do.”
To cross-check the claim’s veracity, Vishvas News also scanned Batra Hospital’s website and the Heart Centre segment, where we located the below page of doctors who are the best cardiologists in the institution.
Vishvas News could only identify one Dr. Rajiv Bajaj (circled), whose identity does not match the one in the video. When contacted on WhatsApp, he said, “I don’t know this guy, there is no one with this face in Batra Hospital.”
For its readers, Vishvas News also tried to establish the link between a healthy lifestyle and the hand exercises demonstrated in the video. Dr Kanwaljeet Kaur, Certified Manual Therapist and Founder of Optimus Physiotherapy Clinic in Noida stated, “These exercises could be a good addition to our regular fitness regime, but as a sole entity, their role is somewhat questionable.”
She also shared a research paper titled – The cortical effect of clapping in the human brain: A functional MRI study – for a more detailed analysis of the issue and added, “Clapping appears to be an effective way of brain stimulation among the three different types of motor tasks.”
On conducting a social scan, Vishvas News discovered that Ram Narayan Vidur is a freelance journalist from Bihar and has 4.7k followers on the social media platform.
Conclusion: The man demonstrating hand exercises to stay healthy is not Dr Bajaj from Batra hospital but the co-founder of See Change Consulting. The viral video in the post is misleading and wrongly claims someone’s identity. As per an expert, the exercises shown in the video might be a good addition to our regular fitness regime, but as a sole entity, their role is somewhat questionable.
