New Delhi (Vishvas News): A message going viral on social media shows a graphic of a purported 84th-anniversary sale for Ray-Ban sunglasses. As per the graphic, Ray-Ban offered 90% off that only lasted for 24 hours. The graphics is repeatedly shared by various users on different dates.
When Vishvas News investigated we found the post to be fake. It is a scam and the website given in the graphics isn’t the official website of Ray-Ban.
A post shared on social media shows graphics of a purported 84th-anniversary sale for Ray-Ban sunglasses. As per the graphic, Ray-Ban offered 90% off that only lasted for 24 hours. The caption with the post read: ““Friends, the surprise is coming. Are you interested?”.

We started our investigation by searching for the official website of Ray-Ban. We found that the official Ray-Ban website is https://india.ray-ban.com/. The website mentioned in the viral post isn’t the official website of the company. While the image did say that the scam website was Ray-Ban’s “official website,” this was false.
When we clicked on the fake website, the website landed on a different URL with a disclaimer that reads: WARNING: WEBSITE SHUT DOWN. The online store that formerly used this domain has been disabled, pursuant to a U.S. federal order court order, for the sale of products bearing counterfeit trademarks.
We also contacted Ray-Ban through email and they responded: We would like to inform you that https://india.ray-ban.com/ is an official website of Ray-ban and the product is 100% Genuine. The website given in the viral claim is a scam.
We scanned the profile of the user who shared the viral post. We found that the account of the Twitter user named Kimberly Deneris was created in September 2014.
Conclusion: When Vishvas News investigated we found the post to be fake. The graphics showing the purported 84th-anniversary sale for Ray-Ban is fake. The website given in the graphics isn’t the official website of Ray-Ban.
