Fact Check: Fake Viral Screenshot Aims To Spread Propaganda Against PM Modi

New Delhi Vishvas News – Prime Minister Narendra Modi has returned to India after his Russia and Austria tour. Meanwhile, a fake post about PM Modi is viral on social media with the claim that PM Modi insulted India on foreign land. A screenshot of an alleged channel is being shared with this claim. Vishvas News investigated the viral post and found it to be fake. The fake claim was spread by creating fabricated screenshots through an online website.

What Is Going Viral

On July 10, 2024, Facebook user Sombir Bhardwaj shared a screenshot with the caption that the country was insulted on foreign soil. Using PM Modi’s picture in this screenshot, he stated that PM Modi insulted the nation on foreign soil. Social media users are sharing this screenshot as real news. Investigation:

Vishvas News reviewed the screenshot carefully to verify the authenticity of the viral claim. On the top right corner of the post, “Break Your Own News.com” was written in English. Vishwas News continued the investigation and discovered that it was intended only for fun, humour and parody.

Upon investigation, Vishvas News discovered that users can create screenshots on this site by uploading an image. This site also allows users to add a heading and ticker.

Vishwas News continued the investigation and reached out to Shashi Kumar, a member of the BJP’s social media team. After reviewing the viral post, he confirmed that it was a fake screenshot, stating, “PM Modi can never insult India.”

Concluding its investigation, Vishvas News examined the Facebook profile of the user who shared this viral post. It was discovered that Sombir Bhardwaj lives in Haridwar and has over 1800 followers.
