Facebook user ‘Dank Posts’ (archive link) shared this post on October 15 and wrote, “Cartoon Network is Shutting Down”
To check the viral claim, we first did a keyword search. We found a tweet in this regard on the official verified Twitter handle of Cartoon Network. Denying the viral rumor, the tweet read “Y’all we’re not dead, we’re just turning 30 To our fans: We’re not going anywhere. We have been and will always be your home for beloved, innovative cartoons More to come soon!”
We also found several news reports regarding this tweet by Cartoon Network stating that after the rumor of the closure of Cartoon Network, the Cartoon Network channel has clarified that the channel is not shutting down and it is a pure rumor.
