Fact Check: Actress Meenakshi Seshadri Is Alive And Doing Well, Rumours of Actors Death Doing Rounds

New Delhi (Vishvas News): A post going viral on social media claims that 90’s Bollywood actress Meenakshi Seshadri has passed away due to Coronavirus. Vishvas News investigated and found that the claim made in the viral post is false. Actress Meenakshi Seshadri is safe and living in the US with her family.

Claim

Facebook user Firoz Rustum Surjapuri shared a post, with the caption that reads: Film actress Meenakshi Seshadri died from Corona.

Investigation

Vishvas News searched the internet with appropriate keywords but couldn’t find any media reports that mentioned the actress’s death. Meenakshi is a famous actress, if such an incident had happened then it would have been covered in media.

We contacted Smita Srivastava, the chief correspondent of Dainik Jagran covering Bollywood in Mumbai. She said that the claim made in the viral post is false. Actress Meenakshi is doing well and is currently living with her family in the US.

We also found a post on Meenakshi’s official Instagram account. On May 3rd, the actress posted a picture of herself and wrote – Dance pose. The viral post has been posted on May 2, while the post on the actress’s Instagram account has been uploaded on May 3. This clearly states that the actress is safe.

We scanned the profile of Firoz Rustum Surjapuri, the user who shared the post on Facebook. We found that the user is from Kishanganj, Bihar.

Conclusion: Vishvas News investigated and found that the claim made in the viral post is false. Actress Meenakshi Seshadri is safe and living in the US with her family.
