Fact Check: 4-Year-Old Video Falsely Linked to Salman Khan-Lawrence Bishnoi Case

New Delhi (Vishvas News). After the murder of NCP (Ajit Pawar faction) leader Baba Siddiqui, a video of Salman Khan is going viral on social media. In the video, Salman makes a statement about strength and family. Some users are sharing this video and claiming that Salman Khan has threatened Lawrence Bishnoi.
Vishvas News investigated the viral claim and found that this video of Salman Khan dates back to April 2020, during the COVID-19 lockdown. At the time, Salman shared the video on his Instagram, urging people to adhere to lockdown guidelines.
What is in the viral post?
X user Dhruv Rathee Parody shared this video on October 15 (archive link). The caption on the video reads, “Salman Khan threatens Lawrence Bishnoi.”
Facebook user RNN Channel also shared this video (archive link) with the same claim.
Investigation
To verify the viral claim, we took the key frames of the video and searched it using Google Lens. We found a news report related to this video published on the Times of India website on April 16, 2020. As per the report “The lockdown has recently been extended to prevent the spread of the corona virus. Amid this, Salman has released a video from his farm house in Panvel and advised people to follow the lockdown guidelines.”
The full version of this video was also uploaded on Salman’s Instagram handle on 15 April 2020. In this, he is talking about the lockdown imposed during Corona and advising people to follow it.
We also reached out to Dainik Jagran’s Principal Correspondent in Mumbai, Smita Srivastava, who said “this video of Salman is more than four years old.”
A report published on Dainik Jagran’s website on October 13 stated that gangster Lawrence Bishnoi has become a major threat to Salman Khan, with the actor receiving threats for an extended period. It is also claimed that the Lawrence gang has taken responsibility for the murder of Salman’s friend and NCP leader Baba Siddiqui, with Salman being mentioned in connection to the case.
We scanned the profile of the ex-user who shared the video linking it to Lawrence Bishnoi. This account has more than 19000 followers.
