New Delhi (Vishvas News). After the life sentence verdict of Yasin Malik, a video of his wife Mushal Malik is going viral. In this video, she can be seen defending Malik. Social media users are sharing this video claiming that it is recent. Vishvas News investigated the viral post. Investigation revealed that the viral video has nothing to do with Yasin Malik’s present sentencing. This video is three years old. The viral post proved to be misleading in the investigation of Vishvas News.
Facebook user Ashwini Kumar uploaded a video of Yasin Malik’s wife on May 27 and wrote: ‘#sadness of #Yasin_Malik’s Begum.. I can’t see it…’

Vishvas News started investigating the viral video with the help of online tools. First of all, we uploaded this video to the InVid tool and extracted many screengrabs. Then searched them one by one on Google reverse image tool. We found this video uploaded on many pages on Facebook in 2019. Facebook user Faheem Mushtaq uploaded this video on April 21, 2019, while Yasin Malik was sentenced in May 2022. It is clear that this video of his wife is old. Taking the investigation further, Vishvas News started searching the viral video on YouTube with different keywords. We also found this video on a YouTube channel named ‘In Khabar’. It was uploaded on 24th April 2019. According to the description, this video was shot when the wife of Kashmir’s separatist leader Yasin Malik held a press conference in Pakistan.
Taking the investigation further, Vishvas News contacted Naveen Nawaz, a senior journalist of Dainik Jagran, Kashmir. He told that the viral video is about three years old. It has nothing to do with Yasin Malik’s life sentence.
At the end of the investigation, we did social scanning of Facebook user Ashwini Kumar. He lives in Mumbai. He is associated with a political party, and is followed by 640 people on Facebook.
