New Delhi (Vishvas News). Indian cricketer Virat Kohli has been seen praising footballer Cristiano Ronaldo on various occasions. Now a video is going viral on social media, in which Ronaldo can allegedly be seen calling himself a Kohli fan.
Vishvas News investigated the viral video and found that the clip was edited. Ronaldo did not mention Virat Kohli anywhere in the original interview.
Facebook user ‘Rayaji Kumar’ (archive link) shared this video on October 11, 2024. In the description he wrote, “Ronaldo’s thoughts on Virat Kohli.”
To investigate this post, we searched the keyframes of the viral video on Google Lens. In the footage, Ronaldo is seen wearing a beige Prada jacket. We captured this keyframe and searched it on Google Lens. We found numerous reels and short videos featuring this look, all claiming to show Ronaldo’s interview with Rio Ferdinand.
Taking a cue from here, we searched with keywords. We found this entire video of Rio Ferdinand’s interview of Ronaldo uploaded on Ferdinand’s YouTube channel ‘Rio Ferdinand Presents’ on 12 September 2024. We watched this entire video but did not find any mention of Virat Kohli anywhere.
After this, we searched with the help of keywords whether Cristiano Ronaldo had said anything like this about Kohli. We did not find any such statement of his anywhere.
We spoke to Dainik Jagran’s sports editor Abhishek Tripathi regarding the viral post. He confirmed that this video clip is of a discussion between Cristiano Ronaldo and Rio Ferdinand and Ronaldo did not mention Kohli anywhere in this entire video.
The viral video was shared by a Facebook user named Rayaji Kumar. The user has hidden his information.
