New Delhi/Vishvas News: A video featuring Australian cricketer David Warner removing cold drink bottles is gaining popularity on social media. In the footage, he can be seen removing the cold drink bottles placed in front of him. Claims are circulating that suggest Warner removed Coca-Cola bottles during a press conference to express support for Palestine, but Vishvas News found through its investigation that these claims are misleading. The video is approximately three years old and unrelated to the Israel-Hamas conflict. It is being shared with false assertions, as the old video has been edited to create the impression that it is recent. While David Warner did pick up the bottles in the video, he eventually put them back.

Vishvas News Investigation:

To verify the authenticity of the viral video, we conducted a Google search using relevant keywords. During our search, we discovered a viral video uploaded on a YouTube account named ‘Red Cash’ on October 29, 2021.

Upon gathering information, we proceeded to search for news reports and found a related report on the Navbharat Times website. According to the report published on October 29, 2023, after Cristiano Ronaldo, David Warner did remove Coca-Cola bottles but later placed them back. Initially, he smiled, picked up the bottles, and jokingly said, ‘Can I remove these?’ However, he clarified, ‘I have to keep them here. If it’s good for Cristiano, it’s good for me too. This is correct.’

Throughout our investigation, we encountered several news reports, none of which indicated that Warner removed the bottles in support of Palestine. Instead, he eventually kept them in place. Continuing our investigation, we researched the Coca-Cola Company. According to the information available in the company’s About Us section, it originated in Atlanta, Georgia, America.

To gain further insights, we reached out to sports journalist Syed Hussain, who refuted the claim, stating that the viral video is two years old. Finally, we examined the profile of the user who shared the video with the misleading claim. The user, a resident of Delhi, has around 9,600 followers.

Conclusion: Vishvas News determined through its investigation that the claim surrounding David Warner’s viral video is misleading. The video is approximately three years old and is unrelated to the Israel and Hamas conflict. The old video has been edited and shared with misleading claims to suggest it is current. While David Warner did pick up the bottles, he later put them back.
