The video was recorded on May 22, 2020, at Sundar Pichai’s house. In this original video, Pichai addressed the class of 2020, encouraging them as they graduated. He spoke about the challenges faced by different generations, such as the 1920 pandemic, the Vietnam War in the 1970s, and the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks in 2001, and he encouraged the Class of 2020 to overcome their own challenges.
Several other users have also shared the original video in a similar context, where Pichai can be heard talking about his professional struggles.
Our investigation so far revealed that the viral video clip is doctored. The visuals are from the 2020 video, where Pichai addressed graduates, but the audio was altered.
