The viral post claiming that a disciple of Dhirendra Shastri of Bageshwar Dham eloped with a woman of the event’s host is misleading. The man, who eloped with the woman, was not the disciple of Dhirendra Shastri of Bageshwar Dham but was associated with Acharya Dhirendra of Chitrakoot.

New Delhi (Vishvas News): A post has been going viral on the internet with claims that a disciple of Dhirendra Shastri of Bageshwar Dham has eloped with the wife of one of the organisers (yajman) of his event. Several social media users have started targeting Dhirendra Shastri over the viral post. However, Vishvas News, in its investigation, found the viral post to be misleading. The incident was found to be true but the man who eloped with the woman has no connection with Dhirendra Shastri of Bageshwar Dham. The man was found to be the disciple of Acharya Dhirendra of Chitrakoot.

Claim:

Facebook user (archive link) Yashvi Oswal on May 9, claimed in a post, “Had yajman asked Dhirendra Shastri earlier, he would have told him that his disciple will soon take your wife away… now suffer son… Why didn’t you reach Bageshwar Baba on time?”. The post is getting viral on Facebook and Twitter.

Investigation:

Vishvas News investigated the claim with Google’s open search tool to ascertain the veracity of the viral post. The content related to the viral post was searched by related keywords in Google Open Search Tool. We came across many news articles related to this incident, which took place in Madhya Pradesh. In the reports, it was stated that the wife of a host in Chhatarpur left her husband and eloped with Narottam Das Dubey, a disciple of the narrator.

The Acharya Dhirendra mentioned in the news report published on May 8 by a website named “The Sutra” is the Baba of Chitrakoot Dham, while the post is going viral in the name of Dhirendra Shastri of Bageshwar Dham.

No mention of Bageshwar Dham or Dhirendra Shastri was found anywhere in the news published on Aaj Tak’s website on May 8. “Organising a Ramkatha became costly for a host in Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh. A disciple of the narrator, who had come to recite the Ramkatha, eloped with the host’s wife. The case started from 2021 when the woman’s husband Rahul Tiwari had organized Ramkatha in Gaurishankar temple. Storytellers from Chitrakoot were called for reciting Ramkatha. Acharya had come to perform Ramkatha with his disciple Narottam Das Dubey,” the Aaj Tak report stated.

During the search, another news report was found on Aaj Tak’s website. A video of the narrator Acharya Dhirendra of Chtrakoot was used in this news published on May 10. In the video, Acharya Dhirendra of Chitrakoot can be heard saying, “Narottama Dubey was not our disciple but lived together as a service. He used to see all our arrangements and drive our car too. Sometimes he used to handle the camera too to live stream them on social media platforms. Since the day we came to know about his act, we abandoned him. We have nothing to do with him.”

We also found a video on Aaj Tak’s YouTube channel, which was uploaded on May 8. In the video, the name of the narrator was mentioned as Acharya Dhirendra, who had come from Chitrakoot.

Taking the investigation further, Vishvas News searched the official Twitter handle of Bageshwar Dham where a post was made on May 9. The post mentioned that for the last few days, unrestrained propaganda is being spread by some newspapers and some media websites, just by making sensational posters. The news is different depending on the sources, but efforts are being made to link it with Bageshwar Peeth. Due to this crores of devotees of Bageshwar Dham Peeth are hurt. All respected media organizations are requested to show only the truth and avoid hearsay and planted news – Bageshwar Dham Peeth Shishya Mandal. Note-Bageshwar Dham Sansthan respects all media institutions. It requests that no question should arise on their credibility.

Keshav Mehta, media in-charge of Dhirendra Shastri of Bageshwar Dham told Vishvas News, “The viral post is completely baseless. Through this, an attempt is being made to defame Bageshwar Baba. The disciple of Acharya Dhirendra of Chitrakoot is being linked to Bageshwar Dham.”

In the next phase of the investigation, Vishvas News contacted the Bureau Chief of Naiduniya, Chhatarpur, Bharat Sharma. He told that the incident mentioned in the viral post has nothing to do with Dhirendra Shastri of Bageshwar Dham. This is a misleading post.

At the end of the investigation, social scanning was done of the user who posted the misleading post. It was found that more than 9,000 people follow this account created in the name of Yashvi Oswal.

Conclusion: The viral post claiming that a disciple of Dhirendra Shastri of Bageshwar Dham eloped with a woman of the event’s host is misleading. The man, who eloped with the woman, was not the disciple of Dhirendra Shastri of Bageshwar Dham but was associated with Acharya Dhirendra of Chitrakoot.
