Fact Check: Viral Letter On BJP’s Choice Of Rajasthan Chief Minister Is Fake

Vishvas News found that the viral letter being shared in the name of BJP regarding the post of Chief Minister of Rajasthan is fake. The name of the chief minister or deputy chief minister of Rajasthan has not been revealed yet. BJP has also refuted the viral claim and termed this letter as fake.

New Delhi (Vishvas News): After the triumph of the Bharatiya Janata Party in the Rajasthan Assembly election, there have been various speculations about the next Chief Minister of the state. Meanwhile, a letter is being circulated on social media, with the claim that BJP has disclosed the names of the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister for Rajasthan. As per the purported list from the BJP, Mahant Balaknath Yogi has secured the position of chief minister while Kirori Lal Meena and Diya Kumari have been named deputy chief ministers.

Vishvas News in its investigation found that the viral letter is fake. BJP has not revealed the name of the chief minister or deputy chief minister of Rajasthan yet. Rajasthan BJP has also refuted the claim and termed this viral letter as fake.

What Is Going Viral?

While sharing the viral post on December 6, 2023, Facebook user ‘Rajkumar Shukla’ wrote in the caption, “On the demand of the people of Rajasthan, Mahant Balaknath Yogi ji declared the Chief Minister. The public may trust Yogis more than the bhogi people. In the future, the reins of the country may be in the hands of a Yogi. Anyway, Modi ji is no less than a Yogi.”

Another user shared the viral post on Vishvas News tipline number +91 9599299372 and requested to know its truth.

Investigation

To know the truth of the viral claim, we started searching on Google with the help of related keywords. We found a report related to the claim on the website of Navbharat Times. According to the report published on December 6, 2023, suspense remains regarding who will become the next chief minister of Rajasthan. The names of Baba Balaknath, Diya Kumari, Vasundhara Raje and Kirori Lal Meena are doing the rounds, but no announcement has been made by BJP yet.

Next, we scanned the official social media accounts of BJP and found a post related to the viral claim on the official X account of Rajasthan BJP. In a post, shared on December 6, 2023, BJP called the viral letter ‘fake’.

We further contacted BJP spokesperson Vijay Sonkar, who described the viral letter as fake. He said that the party has still not decided upon a name for the post of the Chief Minister of Rajasthan. Senior leaders are considering the probable name together.

Finally, we scanned the account of the user who shared the false claim. We found that user shares posts related to a particular ideology. The user has described himself as a resident of Uttar Pradesh on his profile and is followed by 2.8k people.

Conclusion: Vishvas News found that the viral letter being shared in the name of BJP regarding the post of Chief Minister of Rajasthan is fake. The name of the chief minister or deputy chief minister of Rajasthan has not been revealed yet. BJP has also refuted the viral claim and termed this letter as fake.
