Fact Check: Video of Union Minister Kishan Reddy welcoming students at the airport goes viral with false claim

New Delhi (Vishvas News). A video is being shared on social media with the claim that BJP leader Prakash Javadekar had arrived at the Delhi Airport to welcome the students who had returned from Ukraine, but the students ignored him. In the video, a man is seen giving flowers to the students, but the students go ahead without accepting flowers. Vishvas News in its investigation found that the claim being made about the video is false. The person seen in the video is not Prakash Javadekar, but Union Minister Kishan Reddy.
What’s in the viral post?
Facebook user Muskan Patel posted this picture wrote “Prakash Javadekar was ignored at the airport by students who came back from Ukraine. Salute to these students for ignoring Prakash Javadekar. See Javadekar’s expressions. Very embarrassing.”

Investigation –
To know the truth of the viral video, we searched on Google with some keywords. We found the original video uploaded on the official YouTube channel of TV9 Telugu Live on 2nd March 2022. It can be clearly seen in the original video that the person welcoming students is not Prakash Javadekar, but Union Minister Kishan Reddy.
In the first 45 seconds of the video, it can be seen that Kishan Reddy gives flowers to the students. Few students go ahead without taking the flower saying thank you, while many students take flowers from him. News agency ANI has also published this report.
Taking the investigation further, we started scanning the social media accounts of Union Minister Kishan Reddy. During this, we found many tweets related to the viral video on their official social media accounts.
For more details, we contacted Dainik Jagran’s National Bureau Chief Ashutosh Jha. He told us that the viral claim is false. The person seen in the video is Kishan Reddy. He has gone to the airport several times to welcome the students coming back to India from Ukraine. Ministers are welcoming children at the airport. Prakash Javadekar is a MP not a minister.
Vishvas News checked the social background of the user Muskan Patel who shared the viral screenshot.We found that the user has more than 23000 followers on Facebook. She lives in Dhule.
Conclusion: Vishvas News investigated the viral video and found that the claim being made about the video is false. The person seen in the video is not Prakash Javadekar, but Union Minister Kishan Reddy.
