New Delhi (Vishvas News): A message is doing rounds of social media claiming that the Modi government is providing Rs 4,000 to youths under Pradhan Mantri Ramban Suraksha Yojana. People can get this amount by clicking on the link given below.
Vishvas News found that this claim is fake. There is no such scheme as ‘PM Ramban Yojana’. This message is being shared on social media with the intention of duping people.
A WhatsApp user has sent this claim to Vishvas News tipline number +91 95992 99372 to check this post. It is written in this post, “Registration is going on for Pradhan Mantri Ramban Suraksha Yojana*, under this scheme all the youth will get the help of Rs.4000. Register now from the link given below.”
Vishvas News first checked the link given in the viral message. When we clicked on the link, we were asked to select the UPI app and contact number. Apart from this no information was asked from us, whereas in reality only contact details are not enough to apply for any government scheme.
To register for any government scheme, a person has to submit various documents including an identity card. At the same time, no information was asked from us here. After this, when we clicked on this link again, the website appeared to be suspended.
Taking the investigation further, we started scanning many government portals to know about the ‘PM Ramban Yojana’. We also searched with several keywords, but did not find any scheme named ‘Pradhan Mantri Ramban Suraksha Yojana’.
Also, while searching with keywords we did not find any credible media reports related to the viral claim. We also checked the official social media accounts of Prime Minister Modi and the PMO, but we did not get any information related to any such scheme there.
We got in touch with cyber expert Anuj Agarwal for more details. He told us that this is not the first time. In the past too such links have gone viral on social media. This is just a way to steal the data of the users. As soon as users click on such links, all their personal information goes to the people who commit cyber frauds. Whatever data and passwords are saved in the system of users, they reach cyber frauds.
Many times, by clicking on such links, the screen of the computer and mobile of the users comes openly in front of cyber frauds. Through which they easily fraud with the users. We should avoid clicking on such links so that we do not fall for any fraud.
Conclusion: Messages and posts claiming to be giving Rs 4,000 under ‘PM Ramban Yojana’ are fake. No such scheme has been implemented by the government.
