Fact Check: Picture showing a board with Arvind Kejriwal’s picture is edited

Vishvas News investigated and found the post to be edited with the intention of spreading propaganda against the Delhi Government and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

Vishvas News (New Delhi): A board showing the picture of Delhi’s Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is going viral on social media. Through the post it is being claimed that the Chief Minister of Delhi has got this board installed in Kirtinagar Industrial Area of Delhi informing about the installation of ten dustbins. Vishvas News investigated and found the post to be edited with the intention of spreading propaganda against the Delhi Government and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

Claim

Facebook user Post Office uploaded a picture on August 2, 2021, and wrote that the poster mentions ten dustbins, then why only one dustbin is photographed.

Using Arvind Kejriwal’s picture in the post, it was written: “Congratulations Delhi, arrangement of ten new dustbins in Kirtinagar Industrial Area.”

Investigation

Vishvas News first went through the viral board carefully. Seeing this, it was understood that the viral picture was edited. Vishvas News has tried to explain the edited parts of the board with the help of the arrow symbol. The gap next to Kejriwal’s picture clearly shows that it is edited. Apart from this, the upper part in the picture is also edited.

Vishvas News shared the viral picture with Vikas Yogi, media coordinator of Aam Aadmi Party to investigate further. He said: “the picture is edited and it is clearly evident. If you look carefully, next to the picture of the Chief Minister, the truth can be revealed.”

We scanned the Facebook page Post Office and found that more than ten thousand people follow this page. It was created on May 7th, 2019.

Conclusion: Vishvas News investigated and found the post to be edited with the intention of spreading propaganda against the Delhi Government and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
