New Delhi (Vishvas News). A video of Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav is being shared on social media with the claim that he has gone back on his election promise of providing 10 lakh jobs. Vishvas News investigated the viral claim and found that the edited video is being shared with a false claim. In the full video, he says that he has had a conversation with CM Nitish Kumar about giving these jobs and he is serious about it.
Sharing the viral video, Facebook user Kamal Singh Thakur wrote, “Youth of Bihar will have to wait for 10 lakh jobs, we will fulfill it if I become the Chief Minister, as of now, I am Deputy Chief Minister only. “

Since there was a Zee News logo on the viral clip, we started by checking the official YouTube channel of Zee News to know the veracity of the viral claim. We found the full video of Tejashwi Prasad Yadav’s interview uploaded on 11 August 2022. In the video, at 2 minutes and 3 seconds mark, Tejashwi Yadav can be heard saying that “Trasnlated: Right now I am the Deputy Chief Minister. But the Chief Minister has discussed this with me. He is serious about this matter. He has directed the officers to give a maximum number of jobs. This work will either be done by us or by Nitish Kumar ji. But this will happen for sure.”
During the investigation, we also found a tweet related to the viral claim on the official Twitter handle of Tejashwi Prasad Yadav. Sharing a part of his video, Tejashwi Yadav has written that his edited video is going viral. His clipped statement is being shared incorrectly. After checking Tejashwi Yadav’s Twitter account, we found that he is constantly tweeting about giving 10 lakh jobs. He has written in another tweet, that after 10 lakh jobs, 10 lakh additional jobs will be given from other arrangements as well.
For more information, Vishvas News contacted Arvind Sharma, the state bureau chief of Dainik Jagran Bihar. He told us that the viral claim is false. He hasn’t turned back on his promise. Tejashwi Yadav says that he is working to provide 10 lakh jobs.
We contacted RJD spokesperson Manoj Kumar for further confirmation. He told us that the edited video of Tejashwi Yadav is being shared with incorrect context. He is working with CM Nitish Kumar to provide one million jobs.
In the last step, we did social scanning of the user, Kamal Singh Thakur, who shared the viral claim. According to the information given in the profile, the user is a resident of Pune city of Maharashtra. The user is active on Facebook since August 2014 and the user has about five thousand friends on Facebook.
