The video clip of Arvind Kejriwal going viral with the statement of ‘milking the bull’ is incomplete and is being shared out of context with a misleading claim and with the intention of propaganda.
New Delhi (Vishvas News): A video clip of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is going viral on social media with the claim that he made an absurd claim of milking a bull. He can also be heard saying this in the viral clip of a few seconds. Vishvas News investigation found this claim to be misleading. The video clip going viral is incomplete. The video clip is from the 11th National Council meeting of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), addressing which Kejriwal mentioned AAP’s electoral success in Gujarat. During his address, Kejriwal mentioned an incident and said that during the discussion a person even told him that he milked the bull in Gujarat.
Claim:
Social media user (archive link) ‘Himanshu Yadav BJP’ has taken a jibe at Kejriwal while sharing the viral video. Several other users on social media have also shared this video clip with identical and similar claims.
Investigation:
The video clip going viral is of four seconds, which appears to be a part of a speech and it would be misleading to draw any conclusions without listening to the full video. ‘National Council Meeting 18th Dec 2022’ is written in the video clip’s background. A search with the same keywords led to a video uploaded three months back on Arvind Kejriwal’s official YouTube channel, which is of the 11th National Council meeting of the Aam Aadmi Party.
While addressing the meeting, Kejriwal mentioned the electoral success achieved by AAP. Kejriwal said, “We have just got unprecedented success in the Gujarat elections. It was a great success, many thanks to the people of Gujarat and especially the volunteers, MLAs and ministers from Punjab who went to Gujarat in large numbers. Just a few days ago, a person told me that in Gujarat you milked the bull. It was so difficult. Everyone extracts milk from the cow, we extracted milk from the bull.”
The video of this meeting has also been shared from the official Twitter handle of the Aam Aadmi Party. It is clear that Kejriwal used the idiom of milking the bull while referring to the electoral success in Gujarat to convey how difficult these elections were for the party.
Vishvas News contacted Aam Aadmi Party’s Gujarat social media and IT in-charge Dr Safin regarding the viral video clip. “It was used as an idiom, which is being taken out of context,” he said.
Nearly 11,000 people on Facebook follow the user who shared the viral video clip with the false claim.
Conclusion: The video clip of Arvind Kejriwal going viral with the statement of ‘milking the bull’ is incomplete and is being shared out of context with a misleading claim and with the intention of propaganda.
