Vishwas News (New Delhi). A video of former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav is going viral on different social media platforms, with the claim that he addressed a public meeting and said that “Yogi government will be formed” in the state.

In the investigation of Vishvas News, this claim turned out to be false propaganda. Akhilesh Yadav had targeted Yogi Adityanath in a public meeting during the election campaign and said that if Uttar Pradesh is to be taken on the path of prosperity, then a ‘yogya (competent)’ government should be formed. An excerpt of his speech is being shared saying that Akhilesh Yadav has accepted the formation of Yogi government in Uttar Pradesh.

What’s going viral?

Facebook user ‘Vishal Kushwaha‘ has shared the viral video claiming that while addressing a public meeting, Akhilesh Yadav said that Yogi’s government will be formed in UP.

Several other users on social media have shared this claim.  

Investigation

The logo of ‘HEADLINES INDIA’ is visible in the viral video. We searched and found the Facebook page of this channel. We found that a video of Akhilesh Yadav’s public meeting was shared from this page on January 2, 2022, a part of which is being viral with the wrong claim.

In this video of 6 minutes 2022, at the mark of  0.55 seconds, Akhilesh Yadav can be heard saying, ‘…..if Uttar Pradesh is to be taken on the path of prosperity, then a Yogya (competent) government will be formed, only then will Uttar Pradesh go on the path of prosperity. This video has also been uploaded on January 2, 2022 on the verified YouTube channel of Headlines India.

It is clear from our investigation so far that during an election rally in Uttar Pradesh, Akhilesh Yadav, while targeting Yogi, had talked about the formation of a qualified government in the state, which is being viral with the wrong claim.

We contacted Samajwadi Party spokesperson Amik Jamei regarding this video. “Akhilesh Yadav is talking about the formation of a yogya (competent) government in UP and that government is the Samajwadi Party government,” he said.

Another video of Akhilesh Yadav went viral some time ago. Vishvas News investigated the claim and found it to be misleading. The related fact check report can be read here.

The user, who shared the viral video with the false claim, is a resident of Kushinagar according to his profile. More than a thousand people follow this profile on Facebook.
