Vishvas News (New Delhi): A video going viral on social media shows a person claiming that coronavirus can be prevented with seven exercises. Vishvas News investigated the viral post and found it to be fake. We found that the person in the video is Dr. Manish Sharma, CMHO, Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. A notice was also issued to him by the department for sharing such a misleading video.
Facebook user Molick Sood uploaded a video in the group named ‘Guna Jeetega Corona Harega’, writing: ‘Don’t be afraid of Corona anymore, just 30 seconds, 7 exercises…By CMHO Gwalior Dr. Manish ji Sharma.’
In the video, it was claimed by the CMHO of Gwalior that if someone does these seven exercises he will not get infected from coronavirus.

Vishvas News used Google search to investigate the viral post. On searching by typing related keywords, we found a news on naiduniya.com. The report published on October 7, 2020, stated that a notice was issued by Dr. Sanjay Goel, Commissioner Health Services after a video of Gwalior CMHO Dr. Manish Sharma went viral. In the video CMHO, Dr. Manish Sharma told about the seven exercises and claimed that doing these will prevent coronavirus. While he was narrating those procedures, some of his people also made a video from his mobile, which became increasingly viral and aired on many news channels, but some doctors said that the claim made by the CMHO was not scientifically authentic. When this matter reached Bhopal Health Department, Health Commissioner Dr. Sanjay Goyal told that the CMHO has spread misleading information among the general public. Read the complete news here.
During the investigation, we found a notice on the website of the Health Department of Madhya Pradesh. It can be seen on page number 76. It was written that while showing the seven procedures of yoga it was stated that these exercises will prevent coronavirus and this statement is misleading and not in accordance with the guidelines of ICMR India and the State Government.
