Fact Check: Viral Clip of CM Yogi Talking About Knee Pain is Fake

New Delhi (Vishvas News). A video showing Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is going viral on social media, in which he discusses knee pain and encourages viewers to visit a blog for more information.

Vishvas News investigated the viral post and found it to be fake. The viral video of CM Yogi Adityanath is a deepfake. In the original video, he was speaking on tourism in UP.

What is going viral?

Facebook page Sport 45 posted the video on September 30. In this, CM Yogi Adityanath can be seen talking about getting rid of knee pain.

Other users are also sharing the viral video believing it to be true. The archived version of the post can be seen here.

Investigation

Vishvas News first used Google Lens tool to investigate the viral video of CM Yogi. We extracted several key frames of the viral videosearched them. We found the original video on X and YouTube.

An X handle named Satya Sangam posted the original video on 27th September 2024 and wrote that this was shot on the occasion of World Tourism Day, where Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said, “Today Uttar Pradesh has succeeded in attracting not only the whole country but the whole world towards tourism. Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, last year more than 46 crore tourists have visited different religious, spiritual and eco-tourism or heritage tourism sites in Uttar Pradesh. These tourists do not only come to Uttar Pradesh for tourism, but they also play a very big role in creating employment in Uttar Pradesh. It also helps in increasing the excellent coordination of heritage and development. Today the holy abode of Kashi Baba Vishwanath is attracting crores of tourists.”

We also found the original video of CM Yogi on Jansatta’s YouTube channel. It was uploaded on September 27 and it here too, CM Yogi could be heard talking about the tourist places of Uttar Pradesh.

We contacted our partner DAU (an initiative of MCA) regarding the video. In their investigation, they found that the voice of CM Yogi Adityanath is fake. For investigation, DAU used TrueMedia, Hiya and Hive tools.

Vishvas News contacted CM Yogi Adityanath’s media advisor Mrityunjay Kumar for further confirmation. He said that the viral video is fake.

Talking to Vishvas News, BJP’s IT and social media member Shashi Kumar also said that the viral video of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is fake.

At the end of the investigation, we scanned the profile of the user who posted the fake video. No specific information was found about him.
