New Delhi (Vishvas News). After the uproar in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly over the proposal of special status and Article 370, BJP MLAs were marshalled out from the House on orders of the Speaker. Now a video is circulating online, claiming that the MLAs were forcefully escorted out by marshals for chanting ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ in the assembly.
Vishvas News investigated the viral post and found it to be misleading. The BJP MLAs were protesting against the proposal of special status. After this, the speaker called the marshals and escorted the MLAs out.
What is going viral?
A Facebook user named Dr Major Anil Kumar Sharma posted a video on November 10 2024 with the caption, ‘After chanting Bharat Mata Ki Jai in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, watch the following scene. Scratch your heads, brothers; this is the condition of Hindus in our own country. What’s next? Seculars should especially pay attention. What will happen if their (Muslim-majority) numbers increase in every such cabinet?’

Investigation
Vishvas News first used the Google Open Search Tool to verify the claim made in the viral post. In the open search, we did not find a single media report that could confirm the viral claim. There was no news report indicating that any MLA was expelled from the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly for raising Bharat Mata slogans.
The video associated with the viral claim contained two clips. Upon investigation, we located the full video on the YouTube channel of Moneycontrol.com. After watching the 3-hour and 47-minute video, we identified the viral clips between the 33rd and 38th minutes. The video, posted on November 8, 2024, explained that BJP MLAs were expelled following protests over Article 370.
Taking the investigation further, we scanned the Jammu edition of Dainik Jagran, published on November 9, 2024, which stated that the ruckus arising from the special resolution and Article 370 in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly did not stop even on the last day of the session and the House was seen to be in a state of scuffle with sloganeering and jostling. As soon as the session began, the ruckus started with PDP MLAs and Engineer Rashid’s brother Sheikh Khurshid waving posters in support of Article 370 and BJP MLAs snatched this poster and tore it. Amidst the jostling, Sheikh Khurshid and 12 other BJP MLAs were thrown out by the marshals on the Speaker’s orders.

During the investigation, Vishvas News contacted the state BJP MLA Vikram Randhawa, who was also thrown out of the assembly. He confirmed that they were against the proposal of special status and Article 370. But the speaker forcibly expelled them with the help of marshals. The sloganeering thing is wrong.
Vishvas News spoke to Rahul Sharma, a senior journalist of Dainik Jagran, Jammu, about the whole matter, who confirmed that the viral post is fake and stated that the entire ruckus was about Article 370 and the proposal of special status. Some people were involved in sloganeering. But it would be wrong to say that BJP MLAs were thrown out because of the sloganeering.
Concluding the investigation, we reviewed the profile of the user who shared the fake post. We discovered that user Dr Major Anil Kumar Sharma has over 9000 followers.
Conclusion: Vishvas News investigation proved the claim that the MLAs were thrown out for raising Bharat Mata slogans to be false. The MLAs were expelled amidst the uproar over the proposal of special status and Article 370, not for sloganeering.
