Investigation

To investigate the viral claim, we watched the video carefully. There is no lip sync between the video and the audio. Also, the pronouns used in the audio are wrong and the diction and voice modulation sounds artificial. We suspected that the audio of this video was edited.

We shared this video with our partner Deepfakes Analysis Unit (DAU), an initiative of Misinformation Combat Alliance, for confirmation. The DAU team examined the audio using various tools. Hiya AI voice detection tool indicated that the audio could be AI-generated.

We also spoke to AI expert Ansh Mehra on this subject. He said that there was no match between the video and the audio. “The lips have not even been blurred to hide the bad lipsync. Such audio can be created with the help of AI tools with an easy prompt,” Mehra added.

Next, to find the original video, we searched the keyframes on Google Lens and found the entire video published on the YouTube channel Qu Play on 21 July 2021, titled “Quick Heel Pinch by Arbaaz Khan.” There was no mention of Lawrence Bishnoi anywhere in the 23-minute-long video.
