Fact Check: Viral Kidnapping Video is from Egypt, Not Bengaluru
Vishvas News found in its investigation that the claim being made about the viral video of the kidnapping of girls is false. The video is not from India but from Egypt.

New Delhi (Vishvas News). A video is going viral on social media where two people can be seen kidnapping two girls. Social media users are sharing the video and claiming that it shows a kidnapping in Bengaluru, carried out by Muslim men.
Vishvas News investigated and found this claim to be false. The video is not from India but from Egypt.
What is going viral
Facebook page BS Bisht posted this video on September 28 and claimed, “See with your own eyes how Hindu girls are made to disappear by Jihadi demons..Karnataka, Bangalore-See how Jihadis are kidnapping Hindu girls in the lift by making them smell chloroform. After making them unconscious in the lift, they put both the girls directly in the car and left. The girls and women who are kidnapped are never found..If you want to save your girls, inform them about these demons’ evil acts. Your girls have to pay the price of your false secularism and pseudo-brotherhood by giving their lives..Jihadis have made 32,000 Hindu girls disappear in Kerala in this way.”
Investigation
To verify the viral claim, we searched the keyframes of the viral video on Google Lens. We found a screenshot of this video in a news report from Jordan-based news portal Al Bawaba dated 20 December 2023. According to the news, this incident was from Egypt.
Taking clues from here, we did a keyword search and found several reports on this matter.
According to a news article published on the Egyptian news portal Al-Masry Al-Youm on December 21, the mother of two girls, a resident of Nasr city in Egypt, alleged in her complaint that her ex-husband, along with two others, forcibly kidnapped one of her daughters. The other daughter jumped out of the car to save her life. Due to family issues, the girls lived with their father till 2022. But after that the mother had acquired legal custody of both the daughters and the girls were with her.

We also found a tweet from the official X account of the Egyptian Home Ministry, posted on December 20, 2023. The tweet’s caption stated that the girl’s mother had filed a report at a police station in Cairo, alleging that her ex-husband was responsible for the incident. He was attempting to leave the country with their daughters.
Following this, we conducted a keyword search to check if a similar incident had occurred in Bengaluru. However, we did not find any relevant news reports.
To confirm, we spoke to K Nirupama, Associate Editor of Asianet, who works in Bangalore. She confirmed that this incident is not from Bangalore.
Finally, we scanned the Facebook page BS Bisht that shared the video. It was found that about 2.5 thousand users follow this page
Conclusion: Vishvas News found in its investigation that the claim being made about the viral video of the kidnapping of girls is false. The video is not from India but from Egypt.
