New Delhi (Vishvas News). Several posts are going viral on social media claiming that the Cartoon Network channel is going to shut down forever. Vishvas News in its investigation found that the viral claim is fake. The Cartoon Network channel has issued a clarification regarding this, stating that the channel will not be closed and that this claim is false.

Facebook user ‘Dank Posts’ (archive link) shared this post on October 15 and wrote, “Cartoon Network is Shutting Down”
Investigation
To check the viral claim, we first did a keyword search. We found a tweet in this regard on the official verified Twitter handle of Cartoon Network. Denying the viral rumor, the tweet read “Y’all we’re not dead, we’re just turning 30 To our fans: We’re not going anywhere. We have been and will always be your home for beloved, innovative cartoons More to come soon!”
We also found several news reports regarding this tweet by Cartoon Network stating that after the rumor of the closure of Cartoon Network, the Cartoon Network channel has clarified that the channel is not shutting down and it is a pure rumor.
We reached out to entertainment journalist Smita Srivastava regarding this. She also confirmed that Cartoon Network is not shutting down and the channel itself has confirmed this.
We scanned the profile of Facebook user ‘Dank Posts’ who shared the fake post. The user has 56000 followers.
Conclusion: Vishvas News in its investigation found that the viral claim is fake. Cartoon Network isn’t shutting down. The Cartoon Network channel has issued a clarification regarding this, stating that the channel will not be closed and that this claim is false.
