Investigation
Vishvas News performed an open search on Google regarding any such offer by Jio, Airtel, or Vi. If there was any such plan, it would have been covered by any news organization or would have been present on the official websites of the service providers. We did not find any such offer online.
We further searched and found a report published on April 22, 2021, on the website of Dainik Jagran. In this report, the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) stated that the claim of getting 3 months free recharge from the Government of India is false. A similar claim had been debunked in the report. This report can be viewed by clicking here.
We further investigated by clicking on the viral link given in the post (We advise our readers not to click any suspicious link, we did it in order to find out the truth). When we clicked on the link we found that the link redirects to a gaming application promoting to download and install the game. It was neither the official website of any service provider nor any plan offered by the Government of India.
We contacted the spokesperson from Airtel and he said that the viral post is fake. No such offer has been rolled out by Airtel.
The post is shared on Facebook by a group named Radhika Tiwari. When we scanned the profile of the page we found that the page has 26 followers.
Vishvas News debunked a similar post that had a different suspicious link as well as a different date of registration. The post can be checked by clicking here.
Conclusion: Vishvas News investigated and found the viral post to be fake. Users are advised not to click on any such suspicious link as it may be an attempt to steal their personal information. Jio, Vi, and Airtel are not giving free recharge by registering on the viral link.
